Find The Dancer in You!
By Stephanie Wood
In order to benefit fully from your body-wisdom, become conscious that you even have a body.

Our bodies are here for us 24/7…so the question is

What can I do for my body today?

Stop, breathe, and relax and most importantly, begin a conversation with him/her.

Here are some suggestions for experiencing body awareness

  • 1. Breathe consciously and deeply.
  • 2. Begin listening to what your body wants to eat or do
  • 3. Move and talk with each other (learn more about how to do this in my Fr*ee Teleclass: Learn Body Talk 101 http://www.dancefitnessplus.com/classes/details.cfm?CourseID=1
  • Now my favorite suggestion:

Think, feel and move as a dancer might do on the stage. Create each movement, as a graceful, balanced part of an intricate ‘ballet.’

There are many ‘ballets’ you can choreograph…

your relationship dance/ your exercise dance/ your eating dance/ your business dance/your spiritual development dance and so on

    Another favorite suggestion:

Get in the habit of including your body in your decision-making processes. As you consider your choices, check in, see how your body is responding. Notice how your step lightens and your head lifts when you make a decision that feels good. At another time you feel your shoulders tense, your jaw tightens, your stomach contracts. Perhaps there is a warning here to think about.

Again, we are all dancers, dancing through life.

When you start to dance through life with your body you begin to make better choices and enjoy yourself and others.
